Desert tour from Fez to Marrakech 4 Days 3 Night

Overview

Learn about the Berber culture and the desert, Our tour begins in Fez with a drive south to Merzouga, where you’ll spend the first night in a hotel close to the golden dunes.

You’ll have an extra day to explore Merzouga’s secrets, visit a nomad family, and experience what it’s like to ride a camel and spend the night in the middle of the dunes with the Bedouin people.

Continue on to Todra Gorges and marvel at the incredible Boumalen Dades rock formation.

From there, you may explore Rose Valley, Ouarzazate, Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou, and enjoy the panoramic views of the High Atlas mountains and Berber settlements before arriving in Marrakech, where your journey ends.

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga -Sahara desert

Early in the morning our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Fez and take you to the southern region of Morocco.

You’ll stop in Ifrane, which is referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco, to take in its splendor and get some priceless images.

You will then proceed to Azrou to visit the monkeys in the cedar forest after that.

going on to Midelt to a restaurant for lunch. Continue through Tizi N Talghamt Pass to reach Errachidia while taking in the scenery of Ziz Gorges. You’ll stop later for a panoramic vista of the Ziz valley.

After going through Erfoud ( which is well-known for its fossils and dates), on the way to the Erg Chebbi Dunes, you might want to stop by a nearby workshop that makes fossil crafts.

The fascinating Erg Chebbi dunes, also known as the Merzouga Dunes, are the next stop on your journey.

Check in at the hotel where you will stay the night. Having dinner and spending the night in a conventional hotel.

Today, after breakfast in the hotel, you’ll embark on a 4×4 trip of the dunes where you can see fossil-filled black volcanic rocks, interact with a nomadic family, and listen to the meditative Gnawa music of the Khamlia hamlet.

Visit the Dayte Sarji lake, which emerges in the spring and attracts wildlife and pink flamingos.

You’ll then stop for lunch at Merzouga or Hassi Labied, your lunch will be the traditional berber pizza “Madfouna”.

After lunch, you’ll see the canal irrigation system and stroll through the oasis at the foot of the sand dunes. Get ready for a two hour-long camel trek in the afternoon if you want to see the sun set.

You will go farther to the camp on the back of your dromedary where you will spend the night in a tent in the desert.

Dinner and an overnight stay in a bivouac amid the sand dunes with a performance of Saharan music are included.

The Sahara Desert sunrise can be seen from the top of a dune close to the tent if you get up early enough. Eat breakfast after that.

You will ride your camel back to Merzouga after these delightful moments.

As we move towards Tinghir, Erfoud and Tinejdad are passed. Take a break for lunch there.

As we go to the Todra gorges, we’ll stop occasionally to take pictures and enjoy the landscape.

Arrival at Todra Gorges for an expedition to go trekking and enjoy the magnificent canyon views.

In the future, we journey to Boumalne du Dades, where we stop to admire the vast view of Dades Valley.

The package includes dinner and overnight.

We leave for Marrakech this morning after breakfast at the hotel. The Rose Valley, which passes through the expansive Skoura palm grove, is the next destination to see.

It’s a lovely place to admire more than 700.000 palm trees there as well as the numerous kasbahs that have been constructed nearby.

Damascene roses are grown in this valley to use in beauty products like the rosewater.

Continue to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Desert”.

Here you can find the Taourirt kasbah, one of Morocco’s most impressive ksars. Taking a break to get a panoramic view of the Taourirt kasbah before making another photo stop close to the Atlas movie studios.

Following that, we go to Ait Benhaddou ksar, or fortified village, where we will visit the renowned Kasbah (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986).

Several well-known movies, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penelope Cruz, have been filmed on this magnificent set.

Lunchtime in the town at your expense.

We will go to Marrakech in the afternoon via the Tizi N’tichka pass across the high Atlas highlands (2260 m in altitude).

Afternoon arrival in Marrakech, drop-off at your hotel or riad, and conclusion of our services.
